Before we begin a discussion on why women are emotionally drawn to jerky men, we must define what “Jerk” means. To “Jerk someone around” means to treat someone in an unfair way in business. It is unfair treatment that creates indignation.
What is most precious to a woman? Her emotions. And second most precious? Gaining attention over her emotions. What makes a woman feel emotion? Provocation and indignation. This is why women love soap operas where there is constant flow of indignation over dramatic characters.
We call this “Pearl clutching” — A woman judges those involved in drama while living vicariously through them in emotion. Women seek to be emotionally provoked because women seek to spike their emotional states for fun.
This is the key to understanding why women love jerky men. These men provoke their emotional indignation, and this spikes their emotions. But an unframed man will think “They spike negative emotions” — To them I say, “All publicity is good publicity”.

How can negative emotion be a positive? Because a woman will think about a jerk more than a nice guy and this means that she is mentally investing herself with the jerk. He provoked her emotions and created a drama for her.
