I have always had bad posture growing up. Did not have people in my life encouraging me to stand up straight and to lift my chin. Once I realized what postures means in our behaviorism as a species, it made me realize its importance. Read on.
It is normal for fathers to tell sons to “stand up straight, pull shoulders back and to keep their chin up” But what does this all mean? And why would a father want his son to correct his posture? I will breakdown each point and we can explore this further.
When someone is dejected in posture with their back slumped forward, they are projecting their own defeat to others. They are in a way, making themselves smaller and therefore less of a threat to those seeking power over them. They surrender before a fight by mere posture.
When a man’s shoulders are rounded forward is not just him trying to make himself appear smaller so as to project that he is less of a threat but also it a way for him to guard his vital organs from a frontal attack. He is a defensive stance from anxiety over being attacked.
Now let us focus on chin. When a man’s chin is down, he is unconsciously protecting his neck from attack. He is lowing his head as a way to make himself smaller but also his chin is acting as guard to his neck being open for attack. Men with downward chins are acting in defeat.
But also, when a man has “nerd neck” where is neck is down but forward, is a way for him to make himself smaller while exposing his neck. In the animal kingdom, animals will expose their necks as a form of submission.
The Wall Speaks book is about masculine frame, it teaches how to live with one woman. Frame is not about promiscuity.

Let us gown down to the legs. When a man has pigeon toed stance, he is inward as a way to take up less space. He fears taking up space in his environment because that means he signals that he is threat to those battling for spacial supramacy. It makes the man smaller.
When a man stands upright, with shoulders back and with chin back projects confidence of authority. The man makes himself bigger in his environment to show lack of fear. He exposes his vital organs in a puffed-out chest to signal low anxiety. His broad shoulders take up space.
What does this all mean? Most men are walking around in defeat because they are afraid to take up space in this world. That fear gets projected, and predators will be emboldened against them. They look like they would not put up a fight and therefore become easy to bully.
Do not be afraid of taking up space. Do not fear looking confident or showing pride in yourself. Others will not encourage you to have good posture because they benefit in knowing that you have low self-esteem. Love yourself. Shoulders back and chin towards God.
