Hello UDA
Being in the opposition means that your posts on social media will attract retweets and occasionally go viral.
Opposition politics is where your presidential candidate wins all the opinion polls, be it on social media or otherwise, but you still go ahead to lose elections.
Opposition politics is not for the faint-hearted. White people; their western media, ambassadors and other organizations will court you, listen attentively to your case, and nod in agreement but will sit on their hands.
Opposition politics is where your critical staffers will be disappeared, be maimed or even killed. You will make a very noisy appeal that’ll catch the international media’s attention, but nothing will happen.
The perpetrators will be hunted and killed and the case will go cold.
Opposition politics is where your protesters will be followed shot dead, run over by vehicles, intimidated and you’ll be made to watch this and no one will come to your rescue.
Opposition politics is where your good policy will be trashed by the powers that be; don’t worry, you’ll have the backing of the majority of the people, but in the end, no one cares.
You can use that policy to wipe your backside where the sun doesn’t shine.
Opposition politics requires mental stamina.
It doesn’t require rants, it requires perseverance and occasional swallowing of your pain, hurt and don’t forget, your blood and sweat.
This is Kenya
Most of you made this bed and will have to sleep on it.
Good thing, NCCK says it will offer psychological support to election losers.
