Tanzania novelist Abdulrazak Gurnah was in Kenya for the Macondo Literary Festival.
The literary festival which brought together creatives from all walks of life; caricature, poetry and memoir writing ends today 2nd October 2022.
Prof. Gurnah grew up on the island of Zanzibar, but in the 1960s oppression and persecution of citizens of Arab origin forced him to leave the country. Eventually, he settled in England. His novels depict a culturally diversified East Africa.
He won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2021.
