MOMBASA: DECEMBER 13th 2021: Chief Administrative Secretary in the Ministry of ICT, Innovation and Youth Affairs Ms. Nadia Abdalla will on Monday, 13th December 2021 launch #NdotoHalisi Campaign.
As the youngest appointee to the Chief Administrative Secretary position, CAS Nadia is encouraging Girls, Young Women & Youths to dare to dream and be heard.
The NdotoHalisi campaign by the office of CAS Nadia Abdalla and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), is a campaign set to tell the story of transformative change from the perspective of a girl from a marginalized community who dared to dream, believe in her dreams and eventually the dreams come true.
The campaign serves as great motivation to young girls as they get to see how possible it is to overcome barriers that they face (lack of confidence; low self-esteem; poverty; low access to education- because of preference to educate the boys; discrimination; gender based violence; female genital mutilation and child/early marriages).
The decision behind the campaign is solemnly based on the necessity of having someone with experiences like CAS Nadia (A young woman who comes from a marginalized community in Kenya, a Muslim woman, a Kenyan and a Young African woman), candidly speaking about the issues affecting young girls while growing up within marginalized environments and how it is possible to overcome.
