Safaricom Plc has legitimised thievery. Respect for Intellectual Property rights is one of the key components that spurs innovation.
Without this, then corporates do a lot of illegal things denying people their source of livelihoods. The world is corrupt but it must not come to this where 90 per cent of Kenyan youths are oppressed, and those that raise their heads above water are taught to sing the oppressor’s anthem. Perpetuating oppression where there’s no change.
Poverty is not a thing to be celebrated. The world is not equal, but that’s why we have systems to protect everyone; they are laws. And if these modalities of protection are violated by seemingly big and powerful people, who believe that they can get away with it, then the society hurtles towards a dangerous path that ultimately consumes all of us.
If most Kenyans do the right thing; if the Kenyan authorities make it easier for everyone to easily start a business (for those who are business-savvy) and about 50 per cent of the 90 per cent are lifted out of poverty, then most of our problems will indeed disappear.
Stealing of copyrights, patents and utility models only serves to make Kenya a worse place. Everyone must work and be paid for their honest work.
We must put a stop to Intellectual Property thefts in Kenya.
Don’t sign up to M-PESA Bill Manager for Businesses. Your money will get stuck in the system during the court case.

We all know who steals people’s Ideas and makes loads of money from it. Not once not twice but many times. Killing Hopes and putting caps in the hands of many.
It probably hasn’t happened to you but just think about someone with bigger stronger muscle than you come and takes away your hard-earned business and since you cannot take them anywhere, you fold up and go home to die poor.
A chance is presented at us right now to change this course.
Many of you have seen media articles and perhaps asked how? This has happened and you now have a chance to change this course for the generations that come after us.
Let’s make someone accountable, let’s make the world better by asking one question, why did you do this?
If you ain’t sorting that out, I won’t sign up!
Let’s put a stop to this!
We can pass the chance though, but just remember, we take turns at everything in life. It’s a chance that we may never have again.
We call upon global citizens, innovators, inventors, legal practitioners in IP, regulators, media, human rights protectors, mental health advocates and all other humans of good will to join in this call. There can never be better advocacy for human right, mental health, justice and any basic right when we squander a chance to stand for any of that.
Let’s make that change and let’s make it now.
Thanks and all the best.
