The old fashioned ways of instilling good manners in kids are fading away,
In the age of Netflix, Facebook and Tik Tok, parents grapple with what to do as the internet is filled with empty things that take away many useful and creative hours from people.
Catherine Njore is a children’s book author.
My Stern Mom instills many forgotten values such as respect for parents and teachers, eating healthy, personal hygiene, moderation, etiquette, and care for each other and the environment.
I’d love to stress the moderation part.
We are a generation that supports many stupid agendas that are very empty and callous.
The saying, ‘too much of something is poisonous’, rings true even today, but no one seems to care, to the detriment of society.
The powers that be are also grappling to hold onto that power and will do everything to keep it including destroying children by lacing innocent-looking technology, and entertainment with a mind virus known as woke. Please limit the use of technology, find time to chat with your children, and ask them how they are faring.
Be careful.
Njore’s book also reminds parents to take charge of parenthood, even though they are busy.
Children should not be allowed excessive use of technology or TV time. Their brains need to develop through playtime.
My Stern Mom is a small 23-paged book with pictorials and a few sheets where the kids can do their own notes about what they have learnt.
Colored pictorials are good for remembrance.
My daughter enjoyed this book and changed.
